Riyadh Airport Closure Disrupts Some Transit Flights, Direct Indonesia Routes Continue

Saudi Arabia has closed King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh until Saturday after a series of Houthi attacks.

The closure has disrupted some international flights connected to Riyadh, including journeys involving passengers travelling to or from Indonesia.

Some airlines have cancelled flights, changed routes or connections, or rearranged passenger travel.

Indonesia’s aviation authorities say the direct Indonesia–Saudi Arabia flights listed in their monitoring data are still operating.

Those include Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air flights to Jeddah and Saudia flights on routes covered by the data.

The authorities are coordinating with airlines and monitoring the effects on flight operations and passengers.

Travellers with connecting flights should check airline updates regularly and contact their airline if their onward journey changes.

What people are saying

We continue to monitor the situation and its impact on flights connected to Riyadh. Our priority is to ensure that flight safety and security remain the main concern, while also encouraging airlines to provide affected passengers with clear information and assistance.
