Turkey and Bahrain discuss trade and investment ties

At a meeting during the 42nd COMCEC Ministerial Meeting, Turkey's trade minister met Bahrain's industry and commerce minister.

The ministers discussed ways to strengthen economic and commercial ties between the two countries.

They reaffirmed a goal of $1 billion in bilateral trade and discussed increasing trade, encouraging investment and building stronger business links.

Turkey and Bahrain also agreed on the importance of concluding a free trade agreement between Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council through constructive negotiations.

They said new transit routes linking Turkey and Gulf countries could support trade across the region.

Turkey says it will continue developing ties with Bahrain under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
