Fire damage disrupts Mexico City Metro Line B between two stations

Burning rubbish damaged electrical equipment on Mexico City Metro Line B.

Train service is suspended between Oceanía and Deportivo Oceanía.

Metro director Adrián Rubalcava said a person who had been sheltering near a support column started the fire.

The person was detained and taken before a civic judge.

Repair work could last through the day, and the usual service may return by the end of the operating day.

Meanwhile, RTP buses are connecting Oceanía and Villa de Aragón so passengers can continue their journeys.

This is the second fire-related Metro disruption in recent weeks; an earlier fire affected Line 9 on October 20.
