Amit Mishra Says Virat Kohli Stopped Replying After Injury

Former India spinner Amit Mishra says Virat Kohli stopped responding to him after Mishra was injured in 2017.

Mishra says then-coach Anil Kumble and captain Kohli both told him to focus on recovering and suggested he could return to the national team.

After getting fit, Mishra asked Kohli about his chances, and says Kohli promised an update within seven to 10 days.

Mishra says no update came despite repeated calls and messages.

He says he eventually stopped trying to get an answer and moved on.

The injury-match was Mishra’s last international appearance, ending a career of 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 10 T20Is.

Mishra has since been appointed spin bowling coach of Delhi Capitals.
