HSBC adds UK shares and ETFs to digital banking

HSBC UK has added UK shares and ETFs to its app and online banking, letting customers trade in British currency.

Users can place, track, review and cancel market or limit orders.

The bank has also added watchlists, heatmaps, ETF screening tools, company event alerts and expanded research and learning resources.

Eligible customers who open an investment account and deposit at least £500 will receive a £50 payment.

The offer is part of HSBC's effort to make investing easier and expand its digital wealth services.

It follows the launch of more than 300 funds and a simpler account-opening process last year.

Customers can now manage these investments through HSBC's digital channels, though the bank has not stated when the £50 offer ends.
