WNL to launch daily news quiz on NPO 1 in February 2027

Dutch broadcaster WNL will launch a daily news quiz on NPO 1 on 15 February 2027.

Presenter Frank van Leeuwen will host the Dutch version of Belgian quiz De Dag van Vandaag, which has run for five seasons on VRT 1.

The questions will cover events in the news, including politics, sport, media and science.

Three well-known guests play for a viewer at home, rather than competing for their own prize.

After four rounds, a live reporter will visit a viewer who signed up during the show, and the guests will play a final round to try to win the money they have collected.

The programme is scheduled for weekdays at 21:30 for five weeks.

WNL says it wants to use the quiz to discuss the day's news in a lighter way, and Mediawan Skyhigh will produce the Dutch version.
