Meta builds humanoid robot prototype with Chinese firm Fourier
Meta and Chinese firm Fourier built a humanoid robot prototype in three months.
Called Max, it was shown to some Meta employees at an internal robotics event in August.
The robot is about 1.5 metres tall and weighs about 48 kilograms, with a screen, speakers and five-fingered hands.
Meta sees Max as a physical form for its AI agent Muse, which it hopes could carry out household tasks.
The project is for internal research and testing, and Meta says it does not plan to sell the robot.
Meta began developing Max 2 in September, with plans for a new body, improved hands, a projector and sensors to help it climb stairs.
