Polish man sentenced to six months for repeated entry ban violations

A court in Görlitz sentenced a 58-year-old Polish man to six months in prison without parole for repeatedly entering Germany despite an entry ban.

He crossed from Poland into Germany three times in one week, and police found him at Görlitz railway station.

Germany had barred him from entering in 2021, after his deportation the year before.

The ban followed a decision that removed his right to free movement in Germany.

The court treated the three entries as separate offences and used an expedited procedure.

He was taken straight to Görlitz prison after sentencing.
