Netherlands pledges €1.2 billion in non-military aid to Ukraine

The Netherlands has pledged €1.2 billion in non-military support for Ukraine over the next three years.

The package comes as Ukraine faces another harsh winter and continued Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.

It is intended to help protect and repair energy and water facilities, support industry and aid the country's economic recovery.

The Dutch government also announced €40 million for an energy support fund and €55 million for energy equipment from Dutch companies.

The support is meant to help keep Ukrainian cities and villages livable and reduce disruption to essential services.

The package also includes funding to support Dutch companies that invest in Ukraine's rebuilding.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was expected to meet Dutch leaders and the Dutch king during a visit to the Netherlands on Wednesday.
