Nippon Ham's Rodolfo Castro says arrest warrant was issued in Dominican Republic

Nippon Ham infielder Rodolfo Castro says he faces an arrest warrant in his home country, the Dominican Republic.

He said on Instagram that the warrant is connected to a dispute with a construction company over a home being built there.

Castro said the problems had affected his mental health and baseball career over recent months.

He was not with Nippon Ham for its playoff game against SoftBank on October 14.

The 27-year-old had been left off the active roster on September 28 and had travelled with the team for its earlier playoff series against Seibu.

The club is trying to establish what has happened.

A report said Castro was expected to return to the Dominican Republic soon, but gave no further details about the warrant or the dispute.
