Sacramento pregnancy center adds care for patients seeking to detransition

Alternatives Pregnancy Center in Sacramento says it helped Jessica Rose seek to detransition.

Rose is a transgender woman who told the center’s executive director, Heidi Matzke, that she was biologically female and wanted to return to living as a woman.

The faith-led center helps women with unplanned pregnancies and also operates a full-service women’s health clinic.

Rose said her doctors had abandoned her and that she needed medical care.

The center says it provides hormone therapy as part of its women’s health services.

Matzke said she saw helping Rose as a response to her Christian faith and prayer.

The account does not say what treatment Rose received or describe any further plans.

Jessica RosePatient seeking to detransition
What you don't know about me is that I'm biologically female, and I encountered Christ. The Holy Spirit has done work in my heart, and I am now trying to detransition. But my current doctors have basically abandoned me and I have nowhere to go.

When God called me into this ministry ... I felt the Holy Spirit impress upon my heart back then, 'Heidi, you're right. You have no idea what you're doing, and that's why you'd better be face-down before me every single day. You better be fasting and praying.'
