Three more players added to MLBx: Fukuoka event
MLB has added three Japanese players to MLBx: Fukuoka, a baseball event taking place on November 7 at Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka.
The new participants are former SoftBank players Nobuhiko Matsunaka and Nobuhiro Matsuda, and pitcher Shintaro Fujinami, who most recently played for DeNA.
The event is Japan’s first MLBx competition, bringing together former MLB and Japanese baseball players.
MLBx is a fast-paced format with four teams of three, where players take turns batting and fielding.
Teams score through home runs and hits to targets, while fielders can score by catching the ball.
Both hitting and fielding can decide the result, making it different from a home-run contest alone.
Little Glee Monster is also scheduled to perform, alongside the baseball event.
