Singapore embassy denies claims of meeting with Indonesian figures
The Singapore embassy in Jakarta says no meeting took place at the ambassador’s residence on Oct.
18, 2026.
Social media posts claimed that former Indonesian deputy foreign minister Dino Patti Djalal and political researcher Saiful Mujani had visited.
The claims circulated after Dino questioned allegations involving Singapore’s GIC and Temasek, which former trade minister Muhammad Lutfi said had pressured index provider MSCI over Indonesia’s stock market status.
Dino said he was in Perth, Australia, on Oct.
18 for a climate change event and returned to Indonesia on Oct.
20.
Both men deny the alleged visit, and Saiful says he has never met or spoken with Dino or Singapore’s ambassador.
The embassy calls the posts disinformation and will work with Indonesia’s communications ministry to address them.
Saiful says he may look into where the claims came from and consider legal action if needed.

What people are saying
No such visit took place. This is clearly disinformation, which the Embassy will work with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to address.
The news is 100 per cent fictitious, totally fabricated.
I have never spoken, directly or indirectly, let alone met Dino Patti Djalal, nor have I ever spoken to or met the Singapore ambassador to Indonesia anywhere.
