Marcolin deal gives 900 workers new benefits and a bonus of up to €1,220

Marcolin deal gives 900 workers new benefits and a bonus of up to €1,220

Marcolin and unions agreed on a new three-year workplace deal for 900 employees at the eyewear company in Longarone, in northern Italy.

The agreement includes a performance bonus of up to €1,220, which can rise by 5% each year.

Workers will have more flexibility over start and finish times, and more employees can request part-time hours or fixed shifts for family needs.

The deal also increases annual welfare benefits from €400 to €500 and raises the company contribution to supplementary pension funds to 3.6%.

Fifty workers hired through staff leasing will get permanent jobs under the agreement.

The deal follows Marcolin’s acquisition last year by US group VSP Vision, and unions say it shows that business efficiency can be combined with attention to workers’ needs.
