Pellegrini says Betis showed character despite 2-1 loss to Dortmund
Manuel Pellegrini said Betis competed with character despite losing 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The Spanish club went to Germany looking to win, and Pellegrini said he had no major complaints about how his team played.
Dortmund scored soon after Betis equalised, but Pellegrini said Betis controlled the final 15 minutes and created chances.
Betis have nine points from their first four matches, with four games still to play.
Pellegrini said the team would aim to win its next match rather than judge its opponents by difficulty.
Aitor Ruibal scored after five months out injured, and Pellegrini said he could remain an important player.
The coach also thanked the Betis fans who travelled to Germany and supported the team after the defeat.
