Sam Maggs discusses her Star Trek mystery series on WEBTOON
Writer Sam Maggs created a new Star Trek mystery called Recollection: A Star Trek Story for WEBTOON.
The series follows a Starfleet crew who wake with no memories aboard a ship headed somewhere unknown.
It began publishing on WEBTOON in July, and Maggs discussed how it was developed and what could come next.
Maggs said she wanted to make a long-form science-fiction mystery with an ensemble cast, drawing on the feel of the series Severance.
Unlike some Star Trek stories, the mystery does not depend on familiar characters, though Maggs said she would like to include Voyager-era cameos in future seasons.
The series’ future is still uncertain, so no next season has been confirmed.

What people are saying
When I was developing the idea for Recollection, I wanted to make something that felt like "What if Severance, but a 24-episode sci-fi television series with an ensemble cast from the late ‘90s/early 2000s?
I actually found the "locked room mystery" setting of Recollection to be pretty freeing.
