RJ Mitte discussed possible Breaking Bad spinoff days before his death
RJ Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad, spoke about a possible new story for the series days before his death at age 34.
At a Los Angeles film premiere on September 30, he said he was cautiously optimistic that creator Vince Gilligan had something in mind.
Mitte said he had pitched Gilligan ideas for a darker story in which his character seeks revenge after the series finale.
He also imagined Bryan Cranston’s character, Walter White, returning as a ghost.
The original series ended in 2013, but Gilligan has said he would not rule out returning to its world.
Mitte said any new story should feel distinctive rather than simply repeat the original.
The source says Mitte died by suicide, but gives no further details.

What people are saying
I am cautiously optimistic that Vince has something in mind
At the end of the day, any chance I can work with Vince and his team is the dream come true.
I really would want to make sure that if we did it right, that we put up our best, that it wouldn’t just be another spin off that we’re seeing or a revival of something, but it its own unique story that still has elements to ‘Breaking Bad.’
Breaking Bad today is bigger than it ever was before
