France will keep the baccalaureate exam schedule despite school disruptions
French Education Minister Edouard Geffray will not change the baccalaureate exam schedule to make up for lessons lost during ongoing school blockades.
He said the national diploma should not be adjusted to fit different local circumstances.
The minister said two-thirds of high schools had no disruption or only light disruption lasting one or two days.
Schools where students missed lessons may receive extra resources, including catch-up classes, and teachers could adjust continuous assessment.
The Parcoursup application timetable will also stay unchanged, though Geffray said changing the platform remains possible.
The government plans to end required motivation letters and publish selection criteria and local algorithms, so rejected students can learn why they were not accepted.
A reform committee is due to meet on Monday, and Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu is also scheduled to meet student representatives.

What people are saying
