Luise Bähr leaves Die Bergretter after 12 years for a new ZDF crime series

Luise Bähr is leaving the ZDF series Die Bergretter after 12 years playing emergency doctor Katharina Strasser.

The German series follows mountain rescue work in the Alps, where Bähr’s character was also linked romantically to team leader Markus Kofler.

She is moving from the mountains to a new crime series in Hamburg called SOKO Spurenjäger, a working title.

Bähr will play chief inspector Katrin Schuhmann, who works with a forensic biology team to solve cases.

The new series has been commissioned for an initial season of 15 episodes, each about 45 minutes long.

The ZDF has not announced when it will air the new show.

It has also not said when Bähr will last appear in Die Bergretter or how her character will leave.

Her character’s storyline includes a leukemia diagnosis, but the series has not confirmed whether that will explain her departure.
