Kwak Beom’s Ulleungdo trip cost 1.63 million won

Comedian Kwak Beom took a two-day trip to Ulleungdo, an island off South Korea’s east coast, planning to visit Dokdo as well.

A rough-sea warning stopped the boat to Dokdo, so he explored Ulleungdo instead.

He tried local food and said he enjoyed the trip, although he missed much of the planned schedule.

The four-person trip cost 1,626,200 won, including 700,000 won for accommodation and 344,000 won for food.

Kwak said the lodging felt too expensive for a place used mainly for sleeping, and thought changing accommodation and meal costs could bring a similar trip to around 1 million won.

He still recommended visiting Ulleungdo and said a visit in better weather could be even more satisfying.
