Tamil Nadu man arrested over 102 hoax bomb cases in Kerala

Tamil Nadu police arrested software engineer Sharath Subramanian in connection with a series of hoax bomb threats in Kerala.

Police say 102 cases in Kerala are linked to him, including threats targeting the state Secretariat, the Chief Minister's residence, schools and hospitals.

Subramanian, a Tamil Nadu resident who worked in the United States, allegedly sent fake threat emails from the US.

The Tamil Nadu Anti-Terrorism Squad first detained him over a case involving a manipulated image of the wife of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin; police said he made it using ChatGPT.

He told police he sent the threats after his wife left him, and that troubling others helped him deal with his distress.

Thiruvananthapuram City Police then took him into custody in connection with the Kerala cases.
