Kuldeep and Varun may miss final New Zealand T20I, India spin coach says

India has won the five-match T20I series against New Zealand 3-1, with one game left in Hamilton.

In the fourth match, India conceded 259 runs for seven wickets and lost by 87 runs.

Senior spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy have not played in the series, as team management has favoured a different bowling combination.

Spin coach Sairaj Bahutule said conditions in New Zealand led India to choose spin-bowling all-rounders, and the two players understand they may not get a chance.

Both spinners are continuing to prepare in case they are selected, while Bahutule said the team hopes they could play in the final T20I or in upcoming matches.

Kuldeep is in India's ODI squad, but Chakravarthy is not.

The final T20I in Hamilton is the next chance for India to change its selection, though the coach did not confirm whether either spinner will play.
