Sport1 stops appearing on Vodafone cable in Germany
Vodafone stopped carrying Sport1 on cable in Germany from October 30, leaving viewers with a notice instead of the channel.
The change affects about 40% of German households, according to one report.
Sport1 shows sports including darts and snooker, and remains available through other cable providers, satellite, digital terrestrial TV, IPTV and its free online stream and app.
Vodafone confirmed the change but did not explain why it removed the channel.
Sport1 said it is working with Vodafone and expects the channel to return soon, but gave no confirmed date.
The loss of access comes as Sport1 faces serious financial pressure, including overdue licensing costs disclosed in its parent company's 2025 business report.
A previous attempt to improve the business with new entertainment and sports reality shows had limited success and was scaled back.
