Henderson counts on premium-office demand to fill Central Yards
Henderson Land is seeking tenants for Central Yards, an HK$63 billion project in Hong Kong’s Central district.
The project’s first phase is an office development, and trading firm Jane Street took about 70 per cent of its office space last year.
Henderson says that deal has attracted interest from other potential tenants.
The remaining 30 per cent is drawing interest from quantitative trading firms, multinational companies, private equity funds and wealth managers.
This comes as much of Hong Kong’s office market remains weak, but demand for premium buildings has held up.
Henderson is relying on demand for high-quality offices to support the project.
The company says leasing discussions are continuing, but no further tenant deals are specified.
