Jesy Nelson reportedly withdraws from I'm a Celebrity to care for twins

Jesy Nelson has reportedly withdrawn from I'm a Celebrity to care for her twin daughters, Ocean and Story.

The singer's daughters have SMA type 1, a condition their family announced they had been diagnosed with in January.

The show would have taken Nelson to the Australian jungle, but she is said to have decided she could not leave her children while they are unwell.

She was reportedly excited about joining because it could give her a platform to continue campaigning for SMA.

Nelson has been praised for helping persuade the government to announce a national newborn screening rollout for SMA.

ITV is said to be supporting her and leaving the door open, though the broadcaster and Nelson's representatives had not commented.

The reports do not say whether she will join the show in a future series.

It's with a very heavy heart she has pulled out. Ocean and Story are unwell and there is no way Jesy would leave them. Her family are her priority.
