Indra to put AI and cybersecurity at the heart of its new strategy

Spanish company Indra plans to make its IndraMind AI and cybersecurity division central to its new strategy, which it will present on November 25.

Chief executive Josep Maria Recasens said the division would play a key role, and the company expects it to support different parts of its business.

The emphasis is not tied to one defence contract, though Indra may seek work in areas where US company Palantir has provided services to Spain’s armed forces.

Indra also wants to grow in space, including through its role in Iris², a European satellite network project.

Defence and space make up 73.5% of Indra’s order book, and the company sees potential for further growth as Europe pursues major contracts and greater strategic independence.

The new plan will set out Indra’s next steps as it seeks a stronger position in European defence and space.
