Spanish companies set to pay more than €10bn in dividends by year-end

Around 30 Spanish-listed companies plan to pay more than €10bn in dividends before the end of 2026.

Dividends are payments companies make to shareholders, and Spanish shares have historically offered an average dividend yield of about 4%.

Inditex and Santander are due to pay on 2 November: Inditex will pay €0.875 per share, while Santander will pay €0.127.

Investors must hold the shares by the relevant cutoff dates to qualify: 28 October for Inditex and before 29 October for Santander.

More payments are expected later in the year from companies including Sabadell, Enagás, Naturgy, Viscofan and CaixaBank.

Sabadell is expected to pay in December, and its estimated dividend yield over the next 12 months is 7.35%, the highest on Spain’s Ibex index.
