Russian farm exports to India rise 11% in nine months

Russia's agricultural exports to India rose 11% in the first nine months of the year, reaching 1.3 million tonnes.

Sunflower oil led the trade, accounting for $1.2 billion of the $1.45 billion total export value.

The shipment volume was the second highest on record, after 2.5 million tonnes in 2024.

India and Russia have set a $100 billion bilateral trade target by 2030.

Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said trade between the countries has grown by more than 20% so far this year and called for fewer trade barriers and more joint ventures.

Both countries are seeking to expand trade, with Moscow also buying Indian chemicals, electrical goods, medical equipment, seafood, tea and spices.
