São Paulo records 72.9% of October’s expected rainfall

By October 15, São Paulo had received 81.7 millimetres of rain, about 72.9% of the 112 millimetres expected for the whole month.

The city’s climate emergency centre said Thursday was mild, with temperatures reaching 26°C.

A cold front moving along the São Paulo coast is expected to bring widespread rain to the metropolitan area on Friday.

Temperatures are forecast to range from 17°C to no more than 23°C, with humidity above 70%.

Wet ground raises flood and landslide risks in the city as rain arrives.

The front is expected to move away on Saturday, bringing less rain, though light showers may still fall overnight and in the evening.
