China launches national platform for trusted consumer businesses
China’s market regulator launched a national consumer platform on November 3 to help people find businesses that make consumer-protection commitments.
Businesses can register and make commitments online, then receive a code and a shared trust label after verification.
Consumers can search nearby participating businesses through the “消费查” mini-program or scan a code at a business.
The platform lists details such as business licences, customer reviews and ways to get after-sales help, and lets users rate businesses or contact them.
More than 10,000 businesses and 100 commercial areas have joined so far.
Businesses found to have broken the law, failed to keep their commitments or wrongly rejected reasonable customer requests can be removed from the platform.
The platform plans to add more sectors and services, including tools for resolving disputes and financial support.
