Turkish religious foundation denies losses from disputed funds

The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation says it lost no money in funds recently named in market reports.

The foundation said it had no assets in the portfolio companies and funds facing liquidation.

Its only fund investment is in the TLK fund, which it says follows interest-free finance principles.

After liquidation decisions involving some funds, the foundation began withdrawing its TLK assets gradually and in a controlled way.

It says the withdrawals caused no loss and that it is placing the money elsewhere.

The foundation also denies that its director and two deputy directors were removed because of the fund issue, saying the leadership change had been under discussion for some time.

It has begun legal action against people it says spread false claims about it.
