ULA opens digital dental milling center at its Valle campus

On October 28, Universidad Latinoamericana and Lab Dental opened a digital dental center at ULA’s Valle campus in Mexico.

The center uses CAD-CAM technology, which means computers help design and manufacture dental restorations.

It includes an intraoral scanner, a milling machine and a sintering oven to support different stages of production.

Its Ceramill Matron milling machine can process titanium and other materials used in oral rehabilitation, allowing some work to be done on campus instead of at outside production centers.

ULA says students and graduates can use the facility to support treatments for their patients and gain practical experience with the technology.

The partners aim to make production and delivery more efficient and help treatments continue with less delay.

The center is part of ULA’s effort to connect dental education with clinical practice, but no further plans were announced.
