Fox Poll Shows Trump Approval at 36% as Democrats Lead in House Preference

A Fox News poll puts President Donald Trump's overall job approval at 36%, its lowest rating in the outlet's surveys across his two terms.

The poll found voters favored Democratic candidates for the House by 54% to 45% if the election were held that day.

Cost of living was the top economic concern for six in 10 voters, while 74% rated the economy negatively and 53% expected it to worsen next year.

The findings come as Republicans, the party in power, face midterm elections, when voters often use their ballots to express dissatisfaction with the government.

Trump's approval among Republicans had fallen to 76%, down from 92% in March 2025, and political analyst Brit Hume questioned whether Trump should remain the public face of his party.

The poll suggests a difficult environment for Republicans, though the House preference lead was narrower among voters certain to cast ballots, at 52% to 46%.

That means you might get 36% of the vote out, but look, 64% disapprove, that is really bad at this stage when he’s out there front and center, and it may raise the question in the minds of some people of whether he should be out there front and center the way he is given his standing

So I think it’s a tough situation for the Republicans. They may be able to overcome it, but it won’t be easy.
