Jeanfi Janssens says he has grown distant from Stéphane Plaza
Comedian Jeanfi Janssens says he has grown distant from Stéphane Plaza, the French real-estate agent and television presenter.
They worked together on the comedy Un couple magique at the Bouffes Parisiens theatre in Paris in 2022 and 2023.
Janssens said Plaza wanted to dominate the spotlight and their working relationship became tense.
He said Plaza imposed decisions and was not willing to compromise, making it hard to work together as friends.
In January 2024, Janssens had publicly defended Plaza against accusations of violence, calling him a friend.
Plaza was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended, for domestic violence; an appeal court confirmed and increased the sentence in September 2026.
Plaza has said he intends to appeal to France’s highest court, but Janssens has not explained whether the conviction was a reason for their distance.
