Russia says drones were shot down over Tatarstan overnight

Russia’s Defence Ministry said 149 drones were shot down overnight across 13 regions.

Tatarstan was among the regions, but the ministry did not say how many drones were downed there.

Authorities declared a drone danger in Tatarstan and warned of possible attacks on Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Yelabuga.

Flight restrictions affected airports in Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Bugulma, disrupting normal operations overnight.

Russia’s aviation agency said the airports were operating normally again from 4:09 a.m., while the drone danger alert in Tatarstan lasted until 5:24 a.m.

The reported drone interceptions came amid alerts in several regions, though the sources did not say who launched the drones or give further details about damage in Tatarstan.
