Kim Jong-un inspects North Korean clothing and footwear exhibition

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected a clothing and footwear exhibition in Pyongyang on October 19.

It featured more than 70,700 garments and 170,000 pairs of shoes from over 270 production units.

The exhibition included products from local factories, including garment factories built under North Korea’s Regional Development 20×10 Policy.

The policy calls for modern factories, hospitals and public service facilities to be built in 20 cities and counties each year for 10 years, starting in 2024.

Kim said some local products stood alongside goods from central producers, presenting this as progress toward reducing regional differences.

The policy aims to support more balanced development between cities and rural areas.

The exhibition is held annually in October, and no further steps were announced.
