Mexico bars two companies and a person from federal contracts

Mexico’s anti-corruption agency barred two companies and one person from public contracts after finding procurement violations.

The bans apply to contracts with the federal government and prevent the three from bidding directly or through intermediaries.

Am Cenit received a 15-month ban and a fine of 1,346,268 pesos after two of its contracts were administratively terminated within three years.

Construcciones Zarate Prados received a four-month-and-six-day ban and a fine of 526,101 pesos for failing to formalize a contract for school facilities in Tabasco.

Ezequiel Becerril Barrera received a ban of one year, four months and 24 days, plus a fine of 236,483 pesos, after stating that he was not banned from contracting when he was.

All three were added to Mexico’s register of sanctioned suppliers and contractors, blocking them from new government contracts.

They can challenge the decisions, and the agency says it will defend the sanctions if they do.
