Four Diljit Dosanjh songs barred from Indore concert
Officials in Indore barred four Diljit Dosanjh songs from his concert scheduled for November 15.
The songs are “Patiala Peg,” “5 Tara Theke,” “Jeb Vicho Feem” and “Jatt Fire Karda.”
The District Child Protection Officer sent the instruction to the venue manager after a complaint from Chandigarh-based Dr Punditrao Dharenavar.
The venue will allow children over five to attend, and officials said the songs could adversely affect them.
The order cites a 2019 Punjab and Haryana High Court direction to prevent songs glorifying alcohol, drugs and violence from being played, including at live shows.
Dharenavar also asked authorities to stop Dosanjh from inviting children on stage and wearing bullet-belt props, but the current notice covers only the four songs.
Dosanjh is scheduled to perform in Indore as part of his Aura India Tour; the sources do not say whether he or his team has responded to the song restriction.
