Christien Meindertsma wins first Paul Deiters Prize
Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma has won the first Paul Deiters Prize, a new art award given every three years.
The prize comes with €120,000, split between a cash award and funding for new work.

What people are saying
She does not only look at how something looks, but especially where it comes from, how it is made and what stories and systems lie behind it.
I want to find solutions to polluting systems through my work and have more influence over the whole process.
I am fascinated by the materials around us, such as wool, linen and willow, and by how much knowledge and history they contain.
