Bake Off flatbread challenge leaves contestants with undercooked bakes

On Tuesday’s episode of The Great British Bake Off, contestants faced a technical challenge to make eight filled flatbreads.

The challenge called for a grape and blue cheese filling, with only one hour to bake the breads.

Nearly all the flatbreads were undercooked, and judge Paul Hollywood said it was the worst technical challenge he had seen in 17 years.

He said the flatbreads should have been made paper-thin to cook properly.

Nigella Lawson joked the bakers should eat their raw creations as punishment.

Viewers responded to the judges’ reactions, and some joked that they would need to find food elsewhere.

Lawson joined the 2026 series as a judge, replacing Prue Leith, and will continue alongside Hollywood.
