Zelenskyy says Russia is still attacking Ukraine’s energy sites

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to stop attacking energy sites, effective immediately.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian forces continued to strike energy facilities, including in Kharkiv.

Ukraine said it had not received details of the agreement, and Zelenskyy urged the United States to ensure Russia observed it.

The Kremlin said contacts about a possible energy truce were ongoing but did not formally confirm that Russia had agreed to one.

Ukrainian drone attacks appeared to spare Russian oil refineries overnight, though Russia said it had intercepted many Ukrainian drones.

Russia’s continuing attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure threaten power and heat as winter approaches.

The terms of any truce, and whether it will be enforced, remain unclear.
