Xreal Aura Android XR glasses go on preorder from $1,099
Xreal has opened preorders for its Aura smart glasses, which run Google’s Android XR operating system.
The glasses are available to order in the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea, with a base model launch price of $1,099 through December.
A separate puck provides the glasses’ computing power and battery, so the device is wired rather than fully standalone.
The glasses can display apps and games, connect to a computer or gaming device, and create large virtual screens for work or entertainment.
Android XR brings spatial computing and Gemini to the device, as Google and its partners seek to build a range of products for the platform.
The glasses combine virtual-reality-style experiences with a lighter glasses design, but buyers must carry the puck as well.
Xreal says shipping is expected to begin in mid-November, while the launch discount is due to last through December.
