Android 17 QPR3 Beta 3 restores Pixel features and fixes 26 bugs

Google has released Android 17 QPR3 Beta 3 for Pixel phones enrolled in its beta program, including devices from the Pixel 6a onward.

The update brings back native app lock, which uses a device’s existing credentials to protect individual apps.

It also restores lock-screen blur and lets users open apps in bubbles from the Recents menu, alongside a new camera shortcut in Quick Settings and clearer AM/PM alarm times.

The beta fixes 26 reported bugs, including problems with screen rendering, app crashes, notifications and Wi-Fi connections.

These changes matter because they restore useful controls and address issues that can affect everyday phone use.

This is a test release, not the final update; Google’s Android 17 QPR3 release is expected in 2027, after QPR2 is due to become stable near the end of 2026.
