William Contreras named MVP as Brewers win first World Series

The Milwaukee Brewers won their first World Series championship by beating the Tampa Bay Rays in five games.

Catcher William Contreras was named the Series MVP for his contributions on offense and defense.

He hit .381, drove in four runs and had an RBI double in the Game 5 clincher.

Contreras also won 10 automated ball-strike challenges and threw out four runners trying to steal.

His strong play helped the Brewers, a team that also had several other standout performers, secure the title.

Contreras is the eighth catcher to win the award, and the first since Salvador Perez in 2015.
