China Pacific Life launches insurance plan for foreign visitors

China Pacific Life launched an insurance plan for foreign visitors on Nov.

7 at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

The plan was developed with the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Association and is designed for visitors coming to China for business, tourism, study and other purposes.

It covers accident treatment and urgent care, including some costs outside China’s social insurance system, and connects patients with hospitals.

The service includes multilingual help and support through claims, with English, French and Italian among the languages offered.

The plan is intended to make it easier for foreign visitors to get care and assistance while in China.

It has begun to be used in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, with a wider service network planned for other cities.

China Pacific Life says it will update the coverage and services as travel, events and cross-border medical needs change.
