Feijóo promises to pursue corruption cases if elected on November 29
Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of Spain’s People’s Party, made the pledge at a campaign event in Vigo.
He said a future government led by him would not pardon people convicted of corruption and would ensure they face consequences.
His remarks came ahead of Spain’s November 29 general election, in which he is seeking to replace Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s government.
Feijóo also accused the Socialist Party of being linked to corruption cases, but those claims were his own.
He cited 17 open cases involving the party, saying they included 131 people under investigation and allegations of 23 offences.
He also promised to strengthen police support and outlined tax cuts and housing measures.
If the PP wins, Feijóo says he will pursue those plans in government.
