Rapid Critical Metals logs zinc and lead sulphides at Prophet River
Rapid Critical Metals completed its first drilling program at the Prophet River project in northeastern British Columbia, covering 1,486 metres across seven holes.
All seven holes showed visible zinc and lead sulphides, but visual observations do not establish metal grades.
At Pad 2, three holes crossed a contact between two rock formations, and the logged interval widened from about 3.5 metres to nearly 30 metres downhole.
The zinc mineral sphalerite can host germanium and gallium, but tests are needed to find out whether those metals are present in the new core and at what levels.
Earlier bulk sampling at the project returned up to 1,500 parts per million germanium, while the company says the contact extends for more than six kilometres.
Assay results are expected in mid-November 2026, and the company plans mineral studies and a seismic survey to guide its understanding of the deposit and future exploration.
Rapid Critical Metals reported visible zinc and lead sulphides in all seven holes from its maiden drilling program at Prophet River in northeastern British Columbia.
The 1,486-metre diamond drilling program tested three pads, and all three holes at Pad 2 intersected the sulphides at the Dunedin/Stone Formation contact.
The widest logged interval was about 29 metres downhole in hole PR-006, but its true width has not been determined.
Visual logging cannot establish whether the sphalerite contains germanium or gallium, or at what grades.
Assay results, including germanium analysis, are expected in mid-November 2026.
- Who
- Rapid Critical Metals, an ASX-listed company.
- What
- Its maiden drilling logged visible zinc and lead sulphides in all seven holes at Prophet River.
- When
- The drilling update was published on October 27, 2026; first assay results are expected in mid-November 2026.
- Where
- The Prophet River project in northeastern British Columbia, Canada.
- Why
- The drilling tested the Dunedin/Stone Formation contact and other targets; the company says assays are needed to assess metal grades.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
Rapid Critical Metals completed a 1,486-metre diamond program across seven holes and three pads at Prophet River.
The company logged sphalerite and/or galena in all seven holes, including wider intervals in the three Pad 2 holes.
The first assay results, including germanium analysis, are expected.
The company plans mineralogical studies and a seismic survey to help define the structure and guide targeting.

What people are saying
Our maiden program at Prophet River has delivered exactly what we were looking for
At Pad 2 all three holes hit visible zinc and lead sulphides, and the logged interval got thicker with every hole, from around 3.5 metres to almost 30 metres.
Assays are the critical next step and are due in November.
