Fix Price closes all three stores in Mongolia

Fix Price closed all three of its stores in Mongolia by the end of September 2026.

The stores were in the country’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, and operated under a franchise.

Fix Price entered Mongolia in January 2023 with two stores, and the number later reached four before falling to three.

The company has not explained the closures or said whether it plans to return to the market.

Analysts suggest the stores may not have been profitable, but the reasons have not been confirmed.

Fix Price is still expanding in some other markets, including Uzbekistan and Serbia, while reducing its store count in Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates.

By the end of September, the retailer had 8,219 stores across 10 countries, including Russia.

The stores in Mongolia may have been unprofitable, and the market’s size and potential may have been insufficient to continue the business.
