Elke Heidenreich to have foot surgery and cancel Cologne show
Author Elke Heidenreich tore a tendon in her left foot after turning her ankle.
The 83-year-old, a writer and literary critic, is due to have surgery on Monday to reattach it.
Her 23 October show at the Cologne Philharmonic is cancelled because of the operation.
She was due to present “Neulich im Himmel” with her partner, pianist Marc-Aurel Floros.
The show has no replacement date yet, and ticket holders can return tickets where they bought them.
Heidenreich plans to go ahead with a reading in Cologne on 18 October, before the operation.
She will present her new book, “Ach, eine Fanfare!
– Liebesbekenntnisse zu Schriftstellern,” with Floros accompanying her on piano.
