India reimposes duties on some Chinese titanium dioxide imports

India has reimposed duties on specified Chinese titanium dioxide imports after a fresh investigation.

Titanium dioxide is imported from China, and the duties target only specified imports.

The charges range from $460 to $681 per tonne.

Officials found that imports sold at dumped prices had caused material injury to India's domestic industry.

The duties will stay in force for five years unless changed earlier.

An earlier duty, imposed in May 2025, was withdrawn after the Calcutta High Court ordered the case to be reconsidered following proceedings brought by the Indian Paint Association.

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies issued fresh findings on August 3 and recommended the duties, which the revenue department notified on Saturday.
